Australia’s largest tower crane company Verticon has won the contract from Multiplex for crane works at the $500 million Melbourne Convention Centre site.
The project is expected to deliver approximately $4.2 million in revenue for the group.
Verticon’s managing director Rob Lockett said a total of six cranes will be used in the construction of the 5,000 seat centre and hotel complex.
Work is expected to start in December 2006 and be completed by December 2008.
Lockett said the contract would help lead the company forward in Victoria in the 2006-2007 financial year after a softer than expected market in 2005-2006.
