Fairfax Digital yesterday officially launched Australia’s newest commercial property website, Domain Commercial, which follows the recent acquisition by John Fairfax Holdings of the highly successful commercialrealestate.com.au.
Fairfax Digital’s general manager of online real estate, Sam Plowman said the combination of the existing CRE business with Domain Commercial, together with Fairfax’s rich editorial content, will provide a compelling offer for our commercial and industrial clients and enhance our competitive position.
Presently, Propertyreview.com.au along with The Age and the SMH are the main providers of the news content to Domain Commercial.
Domain Commercial provides a range of tools and information for key decision makers, keeping them up to date with commercial and industrial properties as they are placed on the market.
It extends the functionality into the commercial and industrial area with easy searching in the categories of Hotel & Leisure; Industrial; Development & Land; Office and Retail.
CRE, Australia’s first commercial and industrial real estate portal, was founded in 1998. It has grown rapidly and now offers an Australia wide service listing commercial property for sale, lease, auction, tender, as well as properties seeking expressions of interest. These listings will be extended into the Domain Commercial channel.
Domain Commercial and commercialrealestate.com.au join Fairfax as the newest business initiatives. Commercial and industrial real estate agents using these new initiatives will be able to take up the option of having their listings also appearing in the print editions of The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and The Australian Financial Review.
“commercialrealestate.com.au and Domain Commercial are welcome additions to our existing range of products and services on the Fairfax Digital network,” CEO of Fairfax Digital Jack Matthews said. “Property is a priority business for Fairfax Digital and we look forward to working with the leaders in the commercial and industrial property arena to develop quality products that drive results.”
The commercial property listings business is seen as one of the major growth areas of online advertising, Propertyreview.com.au has learnt that several other major players are looking at entering the online Commercial Property business including James Packer’s PBL Holdings.
