Stockland has received independent industry recognition at the National Association of Women in Construction state awards.
Two executives won major awards for contributing to excellence in the building and construction industry.
Stockland’s head of strategic urban planning Dr. Deborah Dearing won the Rider Hunt Crystal Vision award.
The award recognises women who have shown overall leadership through ideas and implementation in construction.
Stockland’s group manager, corporate responsibility and sustainability Siobhan Toohill won the Southern Cross Construction Award for contribution to sustainability with an entry focused on sustainable design and environmental management at Stockland’s Bridgewater residential community, the first BASIX-compliant display village in New South Wales.
Dearing is the president of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects, NSW and is well known in the industry for her commitment to urban design and architectural excellence.
In 2002, Dearing established the Design House for Stockland and recruited its first female employee, Siobhan Toohill.
