Canada’s Wonderland has sold for $US1.24 billion to NYSE listed Cedar Fair LP.
The deal involves Cedar Fair LP buying Wonderland’s owner Paramount Parks Inc. from CBS Corp.
The deal, according to U.S analysts makes Cedar Fair the third largest theme-park operator in North America, in terms of attendance, theme park giat Walt Disney Co. and Six Flags Inc.
In the deal, Cedar Fair also picks up theme parks in the U.S.
The combined parks of Cedar Fair and Paramount Parks will generate almost $US1 billion in revenue and more 25 million visitors every year.
The purchase requires regulatory approval.
CBS shares rose five cents to close at $US25.26 US on the NYSE while Cedar Fair shares rose 39 cents to $US27.39.
