AMP Capital is making its wholesale funds available to retail investors, cutting out the middle man.
The AMP Capital Private Clients will open by a range of AMP Capital Investors’ wholesale funds, including the Core Property Fund, AMP Capital Global Property Securities Fund and AMP Capital Enhanced Yield Fund, for a minimum investment of $30,000.
AMP Capital Investors’ head of private clients Giles Craig said the products will appeal to self-managed investors, including self-managed superannuation fund investors, who may be either investing in consultation with their adviser or directly managing their own funds.
“The products are designed to provide investors with access to investment opportunities which are typically not available to individual investors.
“Through these funds investors can gain access to A-grade property investments such as landmark shopping centres and office towers as well as private debt investments, hybrids and corporate bonds,” Craig added.
AMP Capital Investors’ business director of Australian sales and marketing Brian Delaney said these products are being made available to retail investors following strong demand from the market.
“Our research into the market has shown both investors and advisers are looking for the flexibility to access high-quality investment products in a variety of ways.
“AMP Capital Investors has already experienced strong support for retail investments including our listed vehicles POWERS and DUET and the unlisted AMP Capital China Funds 1 and 2. Our research shows managed funds are now a key area of interest for these investors,” Delaney said.
AMP Capital Investors is one of the largest investment managers in Australasia with over $91 billion of funds under management.
