Australia's John Greig has been elected World President of the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI).
Mr Greig’s presidency of the FIABCI represents only the most recent step in a distinguished career in real estate. He was president of the Real Estate Institute of NSW from 1989 to 1991, and of the Real Estate Institute of Australia from 1993 to 1995. He takes up his new position as World President of FIABCI at the 2004 FIABCI Congress in Houston, Texas.
Operating in 56 countries and based in Paris, FIABCI has more than 4,200 members including 117 national associations. In Australia, the associations that belong to FIABCI are the Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) and the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA).
“One of FIABCI’s aims is to facilitate mutually beneficial working relationships between the public and private sectors. The Global Housing Network, a partnership with the United Nations, works to build affordable housing in the developing world.
“For the Australian real estate industry, we provide access to invaluable real estate contacts around the world, allowing networking in every discipline of real estate from surveying to developing, banking to broking,” says Greig.
“There are great opportunities for educational exchanges between real estate professionals.”
FIABCI Australia members are able to link their websites free of charge to the international FIABCI site, allowing real estate agents to tap into valuable international market listings overnight.
