AMP Capital has appointed Brett Williams as fund manager for AMP Capital Diversified Property Fund (ADPF).
Williams brings over 30 years’ experience and joins from GPT, where he was fund manager for the Wholesale Shopping Centre Fund.
After commencing his real estate career with AMP, Williams later joined Lend Lease before taking on the role as head of investments.
AMP Capital head of real estate funds management Chris Judd said this key appointment was made after an extensive search.
“I am very pleased to welcome Brett to the team, whose deep and diverse real estate experience makes him the ideal candidate to drive the fund performance of our $6.3 billion retail, office and industrial portfolio for our clients.
“It’s an exciting time for our real estate business which is reflected in our ability to attract such strong talent. The next few years will be crucial for ADPF as the fund continues its focus on optimising the portfolio to maximise income and capital growth and deliver key developments such as Quay Quarter Tower in Sydney, Garden City Shopping Centre in Perth and Crossroads Logistics Centre in Sydney’s South-West,” Judd said.
Kylie O’Connor will continue to lead ADPF until Williams commences in mid-February 2019 and will work closely with him to ensure a seamless transition. Following this, she will commence her new role as chief operating officer of AMP Capital’s $28 billion real estate platform, reporting to global head of real estate, Carmel Hourigan.
